What sort of thermal power handling is the IXL voice coil capable of? I'm looking at a single 15, but it only comes in DVC2, and my opti does over 1600w @ 1 ohm.

If I run it at 4 ohms it'll only be getting ~600w.

I was conservative with the ratings. It should handle ~1200 watts with little issue..

Now which would you rather have. Two MAW-15's or one IXL-15. They are both 230 shipped. Vehicle is a grand cherokee and both would be ported.

There is no difficulty powering either setup.

Edit: The IXL-18 is only $20 more than the 15. Can't decide

Go with the MAW-15's. They will sweep more air and will result in higher output. Folks have pushed 700+ watts into them and they've taken it.

that statement would be correct in comparing MAW-12's to MAW-15's, however I don't know how the IXL compares to the MAW's.

One IXL will not equal two MAW's for swept air.

1 IXL-15 = 3 litres p-p

2 MAW-15 = 4 litres p-p
