The subs will break in as you use them. Sub break-in isn't like breaking in an engine where you should baby it for awhile. As you use the subs normally, the suspension will loosen up and the T/S parameters will stabilize to their actual designed spec. Usually the sound smooths out a bit as the suspension compliance increases and the resonant freq decreases as the break in progresses. Taking it easy on the sub will cause this process to take longer.

Be sure to set your amp gains properly though! Post some pics and vids and maybe a review when you get it installed. The IXL's are sexy woofers! Mach 5 ftw.

mark is a fantasic guy, he put on a little dB drag in our city last year. ive bough a few items off mark over the years, and picked them up at his house. very kind guy, always offerd me a beer, shows me what he has coming up in the mach 5 world. i havent scean him in a while, but last we talked he was working on some 8s.

I love my SPL 12's. Getting less than around 1000 a piece, they are unbelieveable in a 4th order BP. 2.3 cubes sealed, 7.5 ported section.
