What's the big difference?

I've got a friend looking to buy one of the two and I can see myself doing the same sooner or later so I figure it wouldn't hurt if i knew too. Is it worth the extra $200 to go Pro?

Backlit keyboard is the only noticeable difference, or you can go to Apple's website and simply click compare on the two.

My buddy has a big 17" MacBook Pro...thing is pretty slick.

I get the impression that thats the only difference. i think im going to talk to someone in person about it

Pro has the aluminum unibody design v. plastic, couple hours extra battery life 7v 10, better processor core 2duo v. core i7 (i7/i5 is way better), bigger hd 250-320 i think, Definitely get the pro. Ps you can get a refurb from apple a lot cheaper and everything on it for the most part is replaced, you wont know it was used.

Maybe they actually throw in some type of security measures with the Pro version, because right now their security is worse than MS.
