I need advice. I plan on upgrading my subs and i dont know which ones to get. Should i get the MA Audio HK12X2 or the Memphis 15-M3MOJO? There are specs at the bottom of the page. If i go with the MA then i will put 2 but if i go with MOJO then i will put 4 in my 2005 Impala. PLZ help i know that MA is not doing so well right now and Memphis is known for beatin the block. should i take a chance with MA or go with what i know. By the way i will be running them off a MA 4000d with a 600amp capcell no aftermarket alternator. Unless some one can tell me if the capcell will not work. Any and all help would be great.

You're gonna need more electrical, or you will be buying a new amp. I would get two large reserve batteries before i pushed it too hard. You will also need a HO alt if you are gonna run as a daily set-up.

ok now one more question. if i do, do this

Re: Ma Audio HK4000D electrical upgrades: What do I need?

All you need is 2-3 batteries!I ran 2 of these for more then a year @1ohm daily and had NO problems. You don't need an alternator for 3 batteries 120A alt will provide enough current to feed 2-3 batteries.

Just keep the voltage above 12v and you will have no problems.

With the modded amp you can run it as low as .5ohms for burps and 1ohm daily.

Anything beyond this will be benifical but is not needed to run this amp.

An MLA modual allows you to change your factory voltage output to whatever you choose(not higher then 15v is recommended)without changing your factory alt to a HO alt.Now this voltage is set and cannot be moved like an external regulator but it is a nice thing.

I have ran the 4000d(x2) and I also own 2 HK12X2's.Had 1 hk on both. The Subs are actually pretty stout. They are the top of the line for MA so they aren't like the cheap 2 for $80 subs.

I would say you will be happy with either one.

And why only 2 12's or 4 15's?Of course the 15's will be louder then the 12's.

sorry said it wrong the mojos are 12 too. i only mess with 12s. So i would have 4 MOJOs cuz of i belive i have the air space, but not sure if i got the airspace for 4 HK12X2 cuz its for my '05 Impala. Also will the BIG3 be diff with 3 bat

I ran the 12x2's in a 4 cu common chamber box tuned in the mid 30's.It got low and loud!

thats nice i was trying to fig out the box too and this is what i came up with

inside its 14x14x27INCHES thats the main chamber the port is going to be 4" wide and 14.5 long. so for the amp all in need is 3 bats. cuz my alt is only 90amps stock?

Just get a Stinger Alternator (180 amps), big three mandatory upgrade, two D75 Optima yellow tops, and keep the engine rpms at 1500 or more when beating on it. The MOJO's are great for the money. A local guy has two Mojo 15's in a box in the bed of a 2005 Sierra Denali Pickup. It is ported through the bed into the back cab and is running two JL 1000/1's, twin Stinger alternators, and twin Optima Yellow Tops. Also has a 450/4 JL amp for mids/mighs, navigation, train horns, 4 monitors, strobes, and all HIDs in front-explains the electrical system upgrades.

Anyway, that truck hit mid-150's decibels a couple of weeks ago at a local show on the termlab. Sounded real tight (looks nice too on 26's!).
