ma audio hk4000d relay options instead of relay

for the hk4000d istead of running a seperate relay would it be ok to just run a wire from the power terminal of the amp to the remote so that it gets a constant 12 volts?

i mean the amp draws current when it's on....over night it'll run the battery down, mine ran fine with just a remote wire, if you have a problem, use a relay

ok.....wtf.....why dont you just hook it up with the remote wire from the HU...Why are you so dead set on hooking it up to the power wire or battery

no i didn't mod it, but i remember reading that sometimes it will go into protect if the remote doesn't get enough voltage.

Buy a toggle switch from somewhere like Radio Shack.

Or if you're feeling really creative, you can patch into a switched/ignition terminal off of the fuse box and run a wire from there to the remote terminal. If your HU doesn't have a remote turn on lead, that is.

And the remote turn on circuit for an amp will usually operate fine with voltages as low as 8-10V and as high as 15-17V. Some may not be as forgiving though, and I have no experience with your brand amp.
