Ive had an overwhelming amount of people ask me for directions on to properly hook up their HK motherboard (whatever version you have of it) weather it be the Visonik 4000xd or the MA AUdio HK4000 or some other version. The problem with this amplifier arises when you try to power the remote off of your head unit or vehicles' fuse block, and it doenst put out 12 volts exactly....when voltage is lower than 11 volts on the remote circuit in the amp, the amplifier behaves as if its clipping. Ive even seen people who have his problem sell their HK amp for $200 because they thought it was broken because of this, so dont be a victim of ignorance about this issue.

So here is the diagram of it, I hope this helps people with these amps. Its nothing fancy but you get the point I hope.

no you need the cap, absolutely essential for correct operation during burps on this particular board...during daily driving it isnt of course but might as well add it anyways - who knows if someday you wanna burp your sh!t and have it poop out cause you forgot to add a stupid cap to your circuit. Ive seen this happen to people, made me chuckle.

Also if anyone ever reads this thread in the future, when doing a search....and if you have fried your HK board email me and i'll tell ya how to fix it......or pay me to fix it, //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I didnt have any problems with mine even at 11.7V on the battery

I said below 11 volts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

and if you try to run your HK board at that low of voltage for long, you'll be buying stock in international rectifier soon //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

I think I may be having the same problem. My voltage coming from my hc2400 in the rear is 14v though when it goes into protect. Is the sub 11v thing coming from the remote turn on lead, or from the power wire?
