MA Audio Amps are they effiecient and reliable?

I have loved mine... HK1998( Had 2 of them) ran at one ohm. HC4002. HK4000d (2 of them). an a MA498i 4 channel amp. Still love them all. An still going strong. HC4002 is over 8 years old now I think.

From what I remember that amp is rated at 17v... Maybe wrong though. Your not gonna see that 4k on 12 volts, second do you have the electrical for this thing? From what I remember they are current hogs and need a pretty hefty electrical system to power them.

From all of the posts I seen. The HK at 12 volts puts out around 3300 3600 somthin. Yes they are power hogs. HK are more for ppl who run 18 volt setups. Thats were they shine at.

One thing is. What are you going for. SPL comps. Or just Daily driving. How about subs what are you running.

this is a daily setup i have audiobahn immortals they are rated 2k rms i have 2 of them. How could I increase my volts in a daily system?

Really you cant unless you go with a dual alt setup. But. I have heard an seen the HK's run fine on a 12volt setup. Keep it unmodded. or If modded still keep the ohm load to like 2 ohms. You be fine with that. Keeping you volts up. Do the big three Alt, Batt, Ground. And add a couple of good Batts in the back. An as others will say the best thing would be is to get a High Out Put alternator. Not to sure about those Immortals if they really handle 2k all the time.

I have ran my Hk at times with just a 12volt setup but I did kept the ohm load up higher. Going lower than that. chance of harming the amp will be greater.

You can always add a few external fans to whatever amp you get. Like $4 at partexpress...
