MA Audio Amplifier Question

I know this question belongs on the amp board, but nobody there ever awnsers my questions.

I currently have a JBL BP600.1 amplifier pushing my audiobahn 1200Q. I bench tested this amp at 584w constant power @ 14.0v. I know it's not pushing my sub to its full potential, but this way I'm sure I won't blow it.

I had an offer yesterday to trade my 600.1 plus $50 for a brand-new-in-the-box 2002 MA Audio UL1700. I looked the amp up, and these are the specs I got for it.

ULTRA LINEAR UL1700

Full MOSFET Circuitry

Fully Adjustable X/Over

Regulated Power SupplY

High Current Amps

True 1 Ohm Stability

Built In Cooling Fan!

4-AWG Molded Terminals

Machined Finish Heatsink

Tinted Plexiglass Front panel with Fan opening

UL1700 Specifications:

Class AB Mono Subwoofer Amplifier

Adjustable Subwoofer Crossover

Remote Gain Control

600 WATTS X 1 CHANNEL @ 4 OHMS

800 WATTS X 1 CHANNEL @ 2 OHMS

1200 WATTS RMS X 1 CHANNEL @ 1 OHM

Does anyone know if these stats are realistic for this amp, or does MA overrate their products? If these are accurate stats, I will probably run two 1200Q's off this amp in 1ohm mode. Is this amp as good/better than my 600.1? Would you accept this trade?

I don't know anything about MA Audio, so all advice and comments are appreciated!

alright many many people on here hate MA audio i for one stand behind there amplifiers. i have not personally worked with any of the amps they make with the exception of the 5011DX and 7011DX which are the new 2002 class X mono block amps. i know everyone says they overrate but mine bench tested at around 950watts at 1 ohm at 12v so i'm happy. hope this helps a lil don't know about there lower line of amps though could try and find out if you'd like??

MA Audiop amps (or their lower series) do tend to overrate their amps, so they don't push as much as they claim, but they are very quality amps. Look nice and amplify sound even better. Anyways i have seen them but never owned one but i loved how good it worked on my friends system.

If you know anyone who has this amp, or knows MA's line of amps, please find out for me. I paid $205 after shipping for my 600.1 and I need to know if this amp puts out more power, or basically is a good trade for my amp. The guy who wants to trade me is trying to sell the amp for $275 because he blew his L7-15 before he got to use the amp and decided to go with a 'bahn 1500Q instead. He said that if I wanted to give him my amp plus $50, he'd let me have it. If the stats are accurate, and i decide to trade, I'll be adding another 1200Q to my system and running it at 1ohm mono.

alright here's what my buddy jim said. he isn't totally fond of the Ma line of amps with the exception the newer class X ampifier's. that amp is typically overrated a little bit he has come across 3 of them directly and the ratings were between 1000 and 1130 watts i believe. so they are overrated just a little bit but nothing major i still say they are good amps and i love mine.
