Ma audio amp the real deal?

i was looking at a m1900xe that says 1000 watts rms at 2 ohms. i was going to buy two of them, each going to a 12 inch 2 ohm kicker compvx. Would that setup be any good?

ive got a hk401sx and i have run it at .5 ohm and 2 ohms it does get preaty hot at .5 but at 2 ohms or even 1 the amp doesnt really heat up that much, i havent had a problem with mine i think it is a preaty good amp

I had a HK2000d, and the thing had four 40 amp fuses. I blown the 2 L7's I had, and the Koves. I had to get some crossfires in order to take all the power! I like MA audio.

ive been looking for a new amp lately and i came across a mono amp made by MA audio. the model number is ma audio m1889i and it says it puts out 800 watts rms at 2 ohms to a single channel. its on sale for $100 dollars and i was just wondeing if it really does put out this type of power or if all MA Audio products are junk so plz help me out.
Hello thought I had some knowledge on the MA Audio Old school Quality. Have had hundreds of MA Audio pieces am 59 and have been in home and car audio for 44 years have had two MA Audio amplifier of this model over the years.i am pretty sure they didn't really use any maximum wattage ratings. Any of the companies back then so. MA Audio M1889i was pretty much dead on 400wrmsx1@4 ohms/800W x 1@2 ohms was An RMS rating. I believe the company relinquished any responsibility if the amp put out a Maximum burst of 1200 watts and your pair of 1200w subs blew. I would conservatively say 800 Good clear watts at 2 ohm up to 14.4VDC . To get big power from any amp you have to feed it an adequate power supply. I recall MA Audio had a lot of high current amps that required a pretty good steady flow of current. Working the amp is definitely worth around $100. The stuff you buy for $100 now days weigh less than 1/4 of the weight. Lots are more efficient and smaller footprint. But the good Quality definitely comes with the BMW or Audi price tag. Hope I have been of help. MA Audio always made solid pieces as far as I am concerned. Happy Holidays.

Just to be clear, this thread is from 2007, getting close to 20 years ago and likely most of these folks don't even visit the forums anymore. I guess old thread traffic is better than nothing these days. At any rate, the Ma Audio gear pretty much faded away with the company, don't see the stuff pop up much these days. I've had some MA gear, it was okay, nothing special, they did have a few decent subs and amps, most of it was relatively generic. MA was a sibling company to Audiobahn, Visonik, and Thump throughout its run, they were all owned by the same parent company and nearly the same products other than cosmetics. I still own one MA High Current amp.
