For those who hate reading, i bolded some of the information that probably matters most to you lol.

Hey all, ive been lurkin on CA.com for a few weeks learning a lot of great information and felt i should finally introduce myself.

I'm a car enthusiast and growing to be interested in car audio. I drive an 03 VW GTI VR6 and currently i have an alpine 9885, alpine 10"type r 4ohm DVC currently in a .65 cube sealed box powered by an alpine mrp m850 amp.

in the mail i have 2 sets of PG RSD65cs components and im about to pick up an alpine mrp f450 amp locally of which i will be running passively until i pick up possible an alpine 9887 so i can run active.

also im about to build a ported box. 1.5 cubes @32hz for my single 10" i also plan to line my trunk with some sort of deadener and also line my doors too. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Big 3 is also on my to do list.

Ive been through a few setups in the past, my first being my OE stereo with a 12W3 in a sealed box powered by a niche 400e amp. i then get a pioneer dehp 8600. sold that setup together for a good price and went back to my OE deck and got a basslink II which i was really happy with. someone shot me an offer i coudlnt refuse so i sold it and bought an alpine 9885 with the ipod cable since my ipod has a huge amount of songs on it.

im aware i can get better amps but for the prices i paid/ will pay for the alpine amps, im pretty happy and i like having matching equipment as much as possible (with exception to the PG components)

I have experience in car audio retail. I worked for circuit city roadshop for 2 years and although i did learn a good amount of basic information and installation, it still doesnt compare to what i learned on here. Just when i thought i knew it all, boy was i wrong. Im looking forward to learning tons more on here.

here are pics of my car

thanks for the compliment. my car has been through many phases. currently it is rackless and i raised up the coilovers and put my OEM wheels for daily driving purposes since im a commuter.

to be honest, my system doesnt look special right now. just a sealed box in my hatch and the amp mounted on the back of the seat. Im working on some MDF work as we speak. when im done ill post up pics of it.

lol looks like my rack is a love it or hate it kind of thing. I initally got it cuz i needed it. the look started growing on me so i kept it on even though i didnt need it. gas prices started hurting my wallet so i removed the rack (yes it does make a difference) and now im happy with my car without the rack
