If my amps lpf is from 40 to 180 how do I find where 80 would be. There is no markings to show the numbers.

I just play a song I know with some vocals and then turn the x-over way, up while it's playing slowly turn the x-over down until the vocals go away then go a little more until the higher bass tones start to fade to your liking if you get to low the output will decrease. It's really a thing of your liking another way to do it would be to play a 40hz tone and turn down the x-over until it begins to fade out but by ear for x-overs ends up sounding better.

It would be just a hair higher than the half way point between 40 and mid way to 180 (25% turn from all the way counter clockwise)

Use test tones to figure it out.
