My BUDGet for the sub is in the first POST! Im really not worried about the budget for the enclosure considering someone on here can build a quality box for cheap compared to snail shell prices.

Just get a sub that YOU think is going to be what you want... as long as you don't buy crap, you'll be happy... because the box is what is going to make your sound for the most part.

I haven't heard too many "tight" sounding subs in a ported enclosure... Accurate, yes... but not extremely tight... that is something only found in sealed enclosures.. atleast in my opinion.

ok well smart guy i know that the sub is not the only factor to consider. Im basically looking for an all around decent quality sub...a pyle sub will not at all sound as good as say an MTX in the same price range! THANK YOU come again

Ported box? Find a sub with a high EBP.

Sealed box? Low EBP.

My trunk is kinda small so since i want tight i could go with a sealed...How would an RL-P sound in around a 2.5cube sealed box with say a 1501/81000d on it at 4 ohms consider it says it only need aournd 600-700wrms to reach full excursion??? An RL-p should handle 1000wrms easily sealed right???

Sine sweeps on a sealed 12" RLP will blow your mind - if you meant low when you said it, that woofer and box is a good combo; looooowww.

I remember making my winter coat wiggle with a 12" rlp sealed at about 18hz

In the correct enclosure and enviroment, I bet I could make a pyle sub sound better, play louder, and drop lower than any MTX sub in an enclosure/enviroment that I choose.
