Lowes or Home Depot?

Menards ftw for the junk food section and better overall prices and carrying 6in x 10ft pvc in stock for $26. I usually try to buy my wood from the local lumber yard because the quality is much better and a sheet of 3/4 mdf is about $22 a sheet and they cut far more accurate than the big box stores.

HD has a track record of treating employees and anyone not aligning the right wing agenda poorly. Lowes is a little better, but not by much.

yeah Menards>Lowes>Home Depot

no idea why but Home depot feels like a trashier version of lowes. But you can rent any machine from home depot for cheap. If im actually buying home improvement **** than lowes and if its for woodskies or nails or anything to make a box than its menards

Have you had them cut your wood? (I drive a car so I have little space for such a full sized sheet, most times I can get them to cut all the cuts I need for free) but how accurate do they cut it if so? I get miscut wood most of the time from Lowes, have not tried Home Depot yet or Menards.

Lowes > HD...for CS and overall friendliness of staff lowes will beat HD anyday. Now if I wanted to just go in and get out right away with the stuff I wanted I would go to HD but usually when I go lowes I like to walk around a bit...

I usually go to Lowes over HD. I own quite a few Rigid tools and have yet to have a problem from any of them. My 2 Ridgid routers are still going like champs, one is ~4yrs old. I also bought a Kobalt 11-drawer toolbox 2yrs ago, hell of a toolbox for the $.

As for customer service, I'm not sure. I pretty much put all big-box companies on the same level for CS. Its a crap shoot from store to store, but being that I usually know what I'm looking for...I just ask simple questions and find my own ****.

For lumber/MDF for the shop, I use a local lumber yard here in Monroe. They are only ~1/2mile down the road, so its a quick trip if I need something on the fly.
