Lowering Xterra

I have a 2002 Xterra that I want to lower. Has anyone on here lowered their xterra and have any suggestions or comments about it? How much did it cost you? Did it improve anything? I dont like how my xterra is so high as I do not go offroading or anything. I would prefer it to be lower for better handeling. I feels too high for turns and also slides out very easily.

thanks in advance

The Xterra is a pretty solid platform that can actually hold up to mild off-road usage unlike a lot of other SUV's. If you planned on strictly street driving and lowering, I really think you should have chosen a different vehicle. If for no other reason, just the aftermarket limitations to such a modding path.

Best bet is probably trying to find a vehicle specific forum, as I'm sure it's a relatively uncommon thing to do and it would really help to get advice from people with more specfic experience.

This is what i hate to see on forums, people not actually helping the dude that started the thread but instead, insulting him time and time again. If you dont have something positive to say, why say it? As for lowering the xterra i have seen several xterras lowered that look really good but most of them have been slammed to the ground.

I dont plan on driving my car off-road and im not going to sell it and get a new one because its not worth enough to bother selling it and getting a different car. Im pretty sure it will be able to drive through snow and everything if I drop it 3 inches. The thing is way to high up to begin with. If you think im ruining my car, then u can come buy it from me and keep it the way it is.

and xterras actually do pretty good off roading, my buddy has one with just a 2 inch body lift and 33's and it can crawl over some huge rocks and through ruts up over some big hills and did it all with ease.

Im not planning on doing any serious lowering. Just to put it at a better spot and lower the center of gravity for the car as a whole. Prob drop it around 3 inches. Im not trying to do an air-ride or anything like that. I read up on some stuff and you can actually lower these pretty easily and for pretty cheap too.
