No way in my eyes. Another avenue for the gov't to raise revenue by taking money from the people. Heck it is not like I ever get over 35mph daily due to the mass amount of fools on the road anyway.

most highways i drive in Michigan are already 70 so people drive 75+.

The cars these days are really meant to cruise at higher speeds. When I drive my friends 88 jetta 5 speed at 60mph the car is running at 4k rpm. So sure lower speed limits suits older cars, but my Tl sits just a hair over 1500rpms at 70. Car technology is beyond that of our current roads.

Meh, I spend 30 bucks, rather gas is 2.00 or 3.00 plus....once in awhile if that high, I fill up, but very seldom.

So keep it where it is..........I usually do 72 and set cruise. 55 would drive me nutz!

With gas prices being so high (yes I know they are coming back down) would you support a Lower National Speed Limit on highways, most likely it would be 55mph?

Wow, already tried that once, didn't we?

1) Show me how much we SAVED when we did that the first time.

2) Why should we FORCE people to save their own money?
