Lower Amp Draw ? MTX MXA 6001 or MRP M500

Hello all,

Does anyone know which would have a lower amperage draw or is more efficient? I have an older dodge that only has a 90 amp alternator. I am running 2 old Image Dynamics ID10's. I have an MTX MXA 6001 and an Alpine MRP-M500 amp.

Edit: I am also running an old school Orion 280 GX for the mids and highs. I tried the mtx and I do get voltage drops when the bass hits hard. I already did the big 3 which really helped. The issue is, with AC, headlights, and the bass my voltage drops considerably.

I cant answer your exact question, but even with the 90 amp alt you wont have a problem with either. I only have a 70 amp alt in my Civic with stock battery and big 3 done and i can run ~1k or so before i run into voltage drop.

I have the MTX hooked up and I also have an old school Orion 280 GX running the highs and mids. Its not a HCCA but between the 2 amps I am getting voltage drops. I did the big 3 which really helped but with AC, headlights, and system thumping I get a decent drop with bass hits.

I dont know but it would be a cold day in hell when I would pick a MTX over a Alpine.
