Whussup guys?

mmkay seled to ported.....are there any subs you cannot do this for? as in are their certain subs that should not be in ported boxes?

I was talking to this kid today....thinks he knows quite a bit about car audio...really dosent know much at all.....but....he has 2 kicker 12" subs...the older ones they arent comps or comp vr's...jus kicker.... I was talking to him aboutpossibly getting a different ported box.....he said these suns shouldnt be ported...and they cannot be ported...they will not be any louder and will sound ansolutley terribble. I asked him whe he said this and he said some salesman at a store told him that.

Can you port these subs? will they be any louder? am I right when i say this kid is completley off in this section?

then...at the same house...this other guy joins in..... praise the lord, hes anotherwnanna be know it all.! So he gets talking, saying never to port your subs especially if theyarerockfords of fosgates....he goes on to say he likes sealed becasue they are able to go much deeper than the ported boxes which do not go nearly as low and hit too fast and accuratley......now.....is it just me or is there something worong with this???

The kid that said ported boxes are more accurate is obviously a jackass, and I'm pretty sure most subs can be ported, just some aren't recommended to be, i.e., my subs aren't recommended for sealed applications.

Well heres a question...

I had ran my JL's sealed for over a year...recently I built 2 dif boxes to speck ported for the JL's

They hit nice and loud...but sounded terible doing it...

Is it possible that a driver will get accoustomed to a box after a long time?

Yeah some drivers want sealed...flame Q's for example have a spider that is a certain spring resistance all through out and thus should be used in a sealed enclosure.

Its kinda obvious the kid knew very little about what was going on.

look at the EBP and see which box the sub suits the best
