ok well i set the gain with my sub settings all the way up on my pioneer deh-p3000ib HU. This means i had it at 125hz cross over with 6 bass and sub on normal. The other settings were like this when i set the gain: eq set to flat, loudness off, bass boosters on HU and AMP off, HPF at 125hz, SRC LV adjust (SLA) set to 4 (because this is how i listen to it...not sure if i shoulda had this at 0 or not....first time i set gain i did so with this at 0 and my gain eneded up being much higher than it came out to be this time). Then i set the gain with my volume 75% up, 50hz test tone playing on reapeat, hooked up a DMM with the subs NOT attached to the amp, turned up gain until my desired 31.6 voltage was reached
so did i do everything ok? Was i correct in setting the gain with my SCR-LV up? And so are you guys saying i CAN use super bass eq, because its part of tuning?
thanks
EDIT: The second time i set my gain with the SRC-LV all the way up (at 4) my gain knob reached the voltage right at the "nominal" position on the amp. The first time the gain was about 1/4 further up at the 0.5 mark (this way with SRC-LV at 0).
