oh ok, well 4 1508s would be good too. i would go for a really nice 15, but that is just my preference

They can but I would tune the box about 38hz with that setup...no one would ever think you were running 8's

Wouldn't that be a bit too high for a daily setup?

For 4 cubic feet I would say a single 15 or 2 12s. Literally dozens of options to pick from and in your price range I would say your wanting something new, you could get a good strong 4-5k amp for a grand and with that other grand I would suggest a 4" VC subwoofer that could handle the power youd be purchasing.

I would personally go with 2 12's for a trunk car.

For $1000 your options are pretty much unlimited. FI BTL's, AQ HDC3's (even with aluminum coils), DD 9512's, etc.

i'd do something different like the 8"s. higher tuning doesen't mean they aren't able to kill the lows...

Definitely. Heard 4 1508s the other day in a Sentra trunk with seats that do NOT fold down and the rear deck hasn't been cut. Loud and Low as hell. Back door was flexing like it had 2 15's.

honestly though if you were to get the 1508s tune them to 35hz dd subs love around that tuning from what i've heard
