im gonna be *updating* my system in a while, and im wondering what sub to get. ill be "upgrading" from an L7 12, and ive been looking at the adire audio brahma, elemental designs a series and image dynamics idmax subs. (all 12's).ive been hitting 147 w/ my l7, and i want something louder. i know that all of these subs are partly sq subs too, but they all have amazing xmax! around twice the L7's. ill be putting 1200w rms to the sub, so which should i get for max spl w/ jus a little...very little sq..(i want LOUD) thanks guys

also...where could iget these subs cheap?

you cant really go wrong with any of those subs, all of them are nice subs. the elemental desings is the less expensive of the 3. Being I am an adire audio fan, my choice would be the brahma then the ed then the idmax. They all have the capabilty of getting very loud. So I would say choose the one that fits your budget..

Adire, blah blah RE, blah blah Elemental, blah blah //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/satan.gif.9c6a335ed7aeeed3ee273e573f1fcaac.gif

My vote goes to none other then.......Yup you guessed it ORION hcca's or better yet H2's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

thanks a lot guys...i was just wondering...the specs for say the ed a and idmax say that the max ported box sizes are around 2.5 cubes...sounds a little small to me...well for spl...im j/w about that.

and...how much do the re xxx's cost? arent they super expensive...cause the idmax and ed a series is around 300

Get a Treo 18'' Sub.. 2500w rms 5000max :p

I've never heard them hit before, but they're suppose to be good from what i've heard.

All those subs are great sub choices and you can't go wrong with any of them. The all have the capablity of producing massive output while sounding impeccable at lower listening levels. I've seen all 3 of those subs easlily in the low 150 decibal range in single sub setups. It just comes down to what kind of space you have for box size and how much money you want to spend. But they are all great choices.

thanks a lot

i think im going to go either with the idmax or orion H2...not so sure yet though.

nebody got previous experience w/ either sub? comments/suggestions?

how about box size/tuning freq. etc...nething is helpful

one thign i wouldnt get is the A. a guy here got one and wasnt impressed!!!!! a lot of people are having problems with theirs also ..... id atleast wait for the new bath of As if u go ED. i throw my vote for a brahma ported. how many watts RMS is the XXX?

I second the suggestion of SI Magnum D2... they have been proven in SPL quite frequently recently. If you want to do them in a SPL box ask "bigbassman" about that, he knows exactly how to make them get hella loud.

Very durable sub... Nick and I recently came across two different guys that only wired up one coil of the Magnums to 1200-watts RMS. Yah, you read that correctly, four times the RMS rated power to a single coil. All the subs in question were fine (3 different magnums) and we changed their wiring configuration to use both coils after inspecting the subs. I don't suggest trying that OR abusing the sub to that degree... but that is quite a testimonial to durability if you ask me.
