Ok, started to do my setup and noticed that my kit came 16 Gauge speaker wire. Does this go to my sub from my amp and I dont know but if it is , is it big enough to transfer the power from my amp...Viper D1200.1 ran at 1 ohm... to my sub? Dont care if I sound like a newb just if I can ge some help?

Allright...I am pretty sure that is what I needed..let me go try and figure it out again...thanks for the help this is my first install and as you can see I am not very knowing about it.

no sir. the 4 gauge most likely goes from your battery to your amp itself.

Your wires arent somewhat labeled (pwr, gnd, etc. etc.)?

The wire that most likely goes from your sub to your amp is probably 2 wires that are connected together to look like one (like the wires that are connected to your interior speakers but bigger).

Yeah, and that is the 16 gauge wire and I guess my original question was if that could handle the load from my my amp to sub.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blush.gif.99bc659ee2012b7d826165e26fb5eebe.gif

Someone told me I didn't have to run it to my battery if I powered it to my headunit...dang i sound stupid but...

You do need to run a power wire from the battery to the amp itself. That is what powers the amp. The remote wire from your head unit to your amp serves the purpose of turning on your amp whenever the head unit is on. You can say its like the turn on switch. You need to have a ground wire from your amp to bare metal of your car chasis as well.

wow, first time trying to give advice to another person in need. cant do it much since im a newbieeeeeeeee. But it feels good.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Well yes, use the inline fuse holder so if for any reason anything goes wrong, your whole system and electrical wont get messed up. Your inline fuse/holder is there to say "I'll take the hit" and itll only damage the fuse rather than your expensive system.

Allright, and I am just running the power wire in and out right
