lost my bass knob - will another work?

so whats the point of a bass knob if you have your gains set or w/e same with the gain knob?
because when I enter my neighborhood (I live in a giant apartment complex) I can turn down the sub and be discrete. I've had my other car broken into TWICE and had my amp and HU jacked; it's pretty rough around here and I don't want to take any chances.

I guess I could accomplish the same with a simple turn of the volume knob, but I don't think anyone can seriously argue AGAINST a sub control at the dash. I realize that some people wander to this site and think they can burn their shit up because it sounds good - and no fault to y'all - but I'm NOT one of those dudes. I'm smart about it, and I'm not going to crank the sub control because it makes me look cool. it's a simple matter of convenience.

and to all you guys making offers - that's cool, but my question remains unanswered. can you take another manufacturer's bass control and add it to the MB Quart amp? it's a PAB2100 (I'm going to run it at 200x2 @ 2 ohms), not the mono D like you suggested Tbrik. would that work, tho?

Well for people who do spl metering it is easier for us to test by changing the gain in the cabin rather than having to run to the back of the car everytime.

Im not sure if the mono amp control will work with your MB Quart PAB amp Business-Only thing I can suggest is try to find someone at MBQuart or Maxsonnics that would know. Sorry-
thanks man for your help. I've got to remember to call Maxxsonics earlier in the day...**** EST +3 hours bullshit!

not surprised. most people dont think of pheonix being that bad...but there are some SHITTY parts no doubt.

however i would just stick with the volume knob. the gain knob can cause more trouble than its worth IMO. ive never used one

with the gain knob your turning down just the bass basically...the highs will still be heard and crystal clear sounding highs will often get you jacked as well. i say shut the whole thing down, thats what i do.

perhaps you are right, my man. it does seem like it could be more hassle than it's worth. volume knob, you are my only friend.

and you've got it right about PHX too - it's a hostile place! in some parts, anyway.
