well, im starting a system for my Audi A6... and all was well till a few days ago...

EVERY SINGLE FUNCTION WAS 100%... i have not changed anything other than having a run of 4g power wire running down the driver side (all HU wires run down passanger side)

I ran a 4g power, nothing tricky there... done it before, never a problem... got it all done, car put back together, and turn on the car so i can set the clock on the head unit... i put it to RADIO... and it only tunes to 0.00 AM and FM.

anyone have any ideas on what could have happened? anyone ever see this happen?

All help is greatly appreciated ahead of time.

Thanks.

Hang on, so it displays 0.00? If it were still going through frequency's with all static that'd be diagnosable, but 0.00? I think this is a dealer issue //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I guess check your antenna connection to the HU, make sure it's grounded correctly, the usual. If not, I have no idea. Hit up an audi forum and see //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

if i bring up my presets and pick one it will actually tune to it and i have static like hell... no even 1% clear

may be a long shot but fuses
oh shit... it might be... i remember actually opening the fuse panel to get to one of the screws for one of the panels i had to remove...

Thanks man. i will have to check that in the morning

will a car without a power antenna have a fuse? my car has an antenna somewhere in it... not one of those shark fins or anything... just internal i guess

If it's not visible like that it's usually in the rear windshield within the glass, most of the time in the same form as the rear defrost. (hence some cars rear defrost causes static at lower frequencies)

If that's the case, I don't think it'll have a fuse //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Did you follow the antenna wire to make sure it wasn't damaged anywhere or probed it with a DMM to check for continuity?

yeah... antenna is within the rear defroster.... that really sux.i will check the cable in the morning with a DMM
Yeah mine's the same way. And mine at least is not fused.

I like it as it makes the car look cleaner overall, though some of the shark fin antenna's look hawt (BMW 5 series comes to mind). But having it into the rear defrost diminishes reception at times and can be a PITA in situations just like this one.

Good luck and let us know how it goes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

lol... to top it off, the add on XM module keeps flashing antenna... so i gotta figure that out too... it worked when i tested it... then i decided where i wanted it... and gone. im pissed off. it has to be a cable too. probably that flimsy *** antenna cable, but that checks out fine for continuity.
