I lose db's on burps, if I turn the volume up slowly to where I want it, I hit in the middle 44's but when I burp im down in the lower 43's?? What the heck is going on?? I know my electrical drops below 12volts in both cases by why the difference in db's???

All I can think of is the alternator gets a chance to catch up when you turn it up slow, the burp is so quick that its just off the battery alone.

It should be the opposite... you heat up those coils as you roll it up and the heat causes some impendence rise, the subs should be getting more power on a straight burp. How far apart are you testing this? if you roll it up and hit a 44, then immediately burp it afterwards and do a 43, the coils are still hot and the impendence is still higher. If you want to test more consistently, let the coils cool for a few minutes between tests.

At all the events Ive attended this year I burp the first time in the lanes, the second time threw the lanes I roll the volume up and gain db's by rolling the volume.

hmm, maybe you just started the car right before you burped it, and it had time to charge on the second run while you were waiting? not sure on this one...

could be that the rise from roll-up is (by pure chance) giving Your amp's the load they need. Rare, but still possible.

Otherwise, x2 on batt float voltage.

Thanks guys!!! It is weird thats for sure. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i say this is correct....i know of a few heavy hitters (read defending db drag world champs past and present) who roll up the volume for that very reason. flat burping costs them tenths on the meter whereas rolling on the volume gains them.

i wouldn't worry about it while using this box. if u change boxes, then test to find out which way works...

mike jones rolls the volume..

im thinking your getting max power at a certain level of volume...when your burping you have the volume up to high, where rolling it you roll past the loudest volume..

Thanks again //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I was just curious what was going on.
