Losing 35 lbs. in a month...

Yeah, don't worry about the rate of change, just figure out your calorie expenditure, and just start eating a diet that will land you in the result weight you're aiming for.

Eating only enough calories to sustain, say, a 150lb. male cannot sustain say, a 200lb. male, you will eventually weight 150lbs. and still be healthy.

Just don't base a weight loss plan around phyiscal activity and calorie intake that you can't sustain indefinitely without sacrificing good health.

"Dieting" = The lose, most people gain it back.

Most people who are trying to lose a lot of weight will plateau after around 3 weeks of significant weight loss. You will lose the first 10-15 in a hurry then it will start to go slower. This is the hardest part, keeping the will power and not getting discouraged. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

the reason for this is the first couple of weeks you are losing all the water in your body and not the fat. thats why when people who dont know a lot about nutrition and health start "dieting" they loose a lot like you said in the first couple weeks. then after there is not much water left they dont see any "progress".

i didnt read much of the thread for the simple fact that, and no disrespect, a lot of people that dont know much about the subject put there 2 cents in and then retarted arguments start. once again, no disrespect, you have the right to say what you will.

the fact is if you want to do this in a healthy way, you dont want to lose more than 3 LBS of FAT in a week. when im training to fight, or when im bulking/cutting for lifting i find its easiest to measure you water weight you lost with a scale, and your fat you lost with a body fat measuring tool. that way you know how much of each you lost or gained.

Learn how to eat clean and workout daily. Not a diet a change in how you eat. I eat clean all week and do one 'cheat meal' a week, it allows me to have something I want that is not good for me to keep my sanity and still allows me to eat clean 95% of the time.

I highly recommend the ABS diet book for anyone who is looking for more info on eating clean, everything cpeirce has posted is very good info. Find out how many calories you body needs a day to run and start by taking away 500 or 1000 calories for it, I would say 1000 calories for anyone who has 50+lbs to loose.

You can also check out the mens health forums or tnation for more good info.

This is very true to be honest. I lose about 25 lbs in 1-2 months and then I sat at that weight for about another 3 months. Now I've gotten back on my diet hardcore and lost another 10 lbs in 3 weeks.

I lost over a hunderd pounds with in a year. Was 335 and went down to 225. Ok well a year and 1 month, but after about the first 50 or so pounds that came off with in the first 2 months it was hard as a mofo to lose the extra 50 pounds. All I did was do 4 smart one dinners a day 4 days a week because of the expense of it and drank nothing but water and the other days I would splurge a little, but not over do it and worked out 3 times a week at 1 hour on a bowflex and it worked for me. I need to get back at it though because I am back to 260. Put 35 pounds back on with in 2 years, not horrible I guess, but need to get down to about 210 which for my size is my ideal weight.

what i have yet to see is anyone suggesting boosting your metabolism by eating more yet smaller meals and snacks throughout the day. that combined with healthy eating habits and exorcise should cause anyone to lose weight. eat a healthy breakfast, 2 hrs later eat a snack like a bannanna, couple hrs later eat lunch, couple hrs later eat an apple, few hrs later eat dinner, have snack a few hrs later and go to bed, and start over.

quoted for truth times 10...

  1. cut out all fatty drinks, pops, juice thats not 100% juice stuff like that
  2. eat mainly grilled chicken breast and fish maybe a little red meat
  3. try and get at least an hour of excersise per day either running, jogging, or other cardio or weighted based excersises.
  4. drink alot of water and pee a ton, this will also flush toxins out of your body and you will in general feal healthier even if you don't look it.
  5. *** is a great excersise i suggest you find a girl and get to work if ya aint got one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I haven't been doing the first four //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

i've lost that much in a month before, its all about eating the right things. I lost 40 lbs in about 4 weeks just by changing eating habits. Breakfast- 2pieces of weat toast, cup of low fat yogurt, apple. Lunch - turkey sandwhich with an apple and lots of lettuce on the sandwich. dinner - chicken salad with low fat dressing, apple/strawberrys i ate like that for almost 3 months and lost a rediculous amount of weight, if you drop soda and all alcohol and drink ALOT OF water you can do it. this is with no exersise either //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Bananas are also a remedy for the runs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The biggest thing that helps me lose weight is COMMON SENSE. Don't eat fast food, junk food, soda, stuff that's normally advertised to kids, 5 min before you go to bed, etc.
