lookin at a new amp

so the amp i have now... SPL Audio Phantom Series DK2-1000 2-Channel Amplifier ShipSound.com isnt putting out the power i want for my subs... Audiobahn AW1251SE - 12" Subwoofers - Sonic Electronix

i was looking at this amp because it seems to be a little more suitable, any suggestions.?

no sir! you dont need a SPL amp!

i dont really have anything against audiobahn... but there not the greatest out there

to start i never bough them n its really quite personal so id rather not go into detail on how i got it. to the next point i have no problems with either the subs or the amp but i do need more power for the subs. what is wrong with spl anyway, sorry i dont have the experience of knowing of every brand and knowing what ones are good and the ones that arnt, im still kinda knew to this and im not trying to spend a whole lot.

Because your new to this, ill tell you why.

Those amps are made in a factory, untested, and they will fail eventually due to the cheap parts that are used to save money. Next of all, whatever they say their rated power is, they don't. If it says 600 watts rms at 1 Ohm on that amp, for example, its not putting out anywhere near that.

And then you have signal issues, and that is the amp, because made poorly, will clip, or send dirty signals to the sub, and blow it.

Just stick around, do not get that amp, and learn what the good brands are my man. Save your money up, and treat yourself to the really good sh*t.

I'd add to that the JBL 1200.1 amp that comes up on eBay a lot through the JBL/Harmon/infinity ebay store....can be had for 125 ish shipped if you snipe
