Well i was unscrewing my sub from box to put some weird headed screws in and i got hot so i turn on my car. Well when i turned on my car off course my amp turned on. So i was wondering if it is bad to sub to send about 1100rms to the sub free air. I have a 06 L7. It was only on about 5-10secs be4 i relized wut i did.

I got my sub installed profesinally. I had my car turned off when i was unscrewing the screws that hold my subs to the box. I wanted weird shaped screws so no1 could steal it that easy. While the sub was out of the box i turned on my car for some ac and my amp turned on. So my sub was powered with about 1100rms on freeair for about 5-10secs i wondered if i could of done any damage to my sub with what i did. I hope i reworded a lil better

I sure hope so cuz when i screwed back in i turned my hu back on and my amp was on but no bumb. Im hoping that something just came undone but i dont know im preety ****in scared i blew my sub i will be so ****in pissed it aint funny.

instead of stealing it, they will stab it.

It isn't like they are going to walk away and shrug thier shoulders.

I understand though. I have a video camera on my car and I don't even have any subs atm

I dont know it was wierd how they had it hooked up ima try to explain this the best i can.

The KnuKoncepts + - wires are connected so they cut a peice of the pos and connected the plus to plus with the cut peice of wire. Then they regularly ran the neg.

Are you saying the negative posts on each coil has its own dedicated piece of speaker wire running to it while one positive post has its own wire and the other coil's positive is jumpered off of the first?

If so that is fine so long as negative coil posts are both connected to the negative output terminal on the amp and the jumpered positives are both wired to the amp's + output terminal. (assuming you wanted it wired in parallel)

The only way the sub would recieve 1100w for a second is if there was signal present and you had the deck at max volume at the moment... did you hear any crazy sounds when it happened? did the music start blasting?

if there is ano answer to those questions everything should be fine.

Recheck your wires.

If there are only 2 speaker wires going to the sub and they are both connected to the negative terminals then something is wrong.... there should be a wire to a positive and a to a negative then the other terminals can be jumped from them, if it is wired parallel. if it is wired in a series there should be a wire from the amp to the positive of one coil then a jumper from that negative to the other coil positive then a wire from that negative to the amp.

No ima try to explain again. The + and - come connected with the knukonceptz wiring kit. Well the neg wire is ran from 1 neg to the other neg. Then they cut a peice of the + wire and connected the plus to plus with cut peice of wire. I dont see how this would work because there is nothing going from the amp to the subs positelvly. I hope this will make more sense. Maybe when i unscrewed the sub the pos wire broke and thats why it wont come back on?

If in no way either positive coil input is connected to the amp in any way then yes, I would suggest that is why you're getting no output from it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
