Do the skars use butyl surrounds?? I would like to see a drop in test as Buick suggested. My money is on the SA putting up higher numbers and being able to handle more power and surviving it.

they will but the skars will get lower

What you will likely find in a drop-in test is the Skar being as loud or possibly louder really low (in the 20s and lows 30s) and the SA being louder at 40+ hz

Has a lower Fs and a bit more linear excursion than the SA but less motor force and more mass.

Typically in a comparison of two woofers with these differences that is what you will see.

i know those cant be actual 600 rms what does each really take? and no im not dumb, we dont get much exposure to diverse sound systems out here, id have to drive an hour to syracuse or 2 to nyc to find any sundown dealers or any really good underground stuff so someone pop my sa/skar cherry plz

Correct. The VVX-12 was designed with a certain target as was the SA -- I think both nailed it well in their category!
