You people are idiots.

x2. Yea I tend to dislike those types of compilations too. For example the "Very Best of Curtis Mayfield" CD, I had that for at least a couple of years. It was the second Curtis Mayfield CD I had ever purchased (you know Superfly had to be the first). So I got used to all the songs on the Best of CD. So, 2 years later, I get DSL & now look for his actual albums (Short Eyes, Roots, Cannot Find a Way, etc.) and I absolutely hate it when the actual album song is like 7 minutes of good funking music and the identical track on the Best of album is only like 3 minutes. It's one thing to just fade off a track after 4 minutes of the original 7 minute track; but these tracks had sections removed from the middle! It catches you surprise, like, "where did that come from"??
Same thing with Isaac Hayes. If you don't know by now, Isaac Hayes is notorious for 10+ minute songs. I had a Greatest Isaac Hayes CD I had purchased too. Track on the compilation, 4 minutes; track on the album,
16 minutes!!! Sometimes he gets carried away...like there's one track on one of his albums where he talks for like 5 minutes with the band vamping on the same chord! That's one thing I've learned, good music doesn't feel like it has to "rush" to a chorus & be done with it in 3 & a half minutes.
EWH is cool. Don't have much of their stuff though. I've got Greatest EWH Love Songs & Sing a Song. I'll add them to my to-find-and-download queue.
I tend to go to Best Buy/Circuit City/Dr. Wax and search for those cheap $8 and under old school CDs like every other week.
