Does the JBL 600.1 put out 600watts RMS or is that the peak power? I have 1 12" Alpine R Type (4+4 DVC) and don't want to blow it to sh*t. The specs on the Alpine show 300w RMS and 1000w Peak. I can order the smaller JBL (300.1) if that would be better. The JBL site doesn't say and I can't seem to locate it, help I want to place this order today. I'm not sure placing the order today would do any good or not since Ikesound is moving to another wharehouse, but I would still like to order them.

The 600.1 produces 600W RMS at 2 ohms.

Sorry, didnt read the whole thing....so with your sub, if you wire the 2 VCs in parallel, you'll get a 2 ohm impedance. Therefore connected to the 600.1 youd get 600 watts to that one sub. Im not sure how much wattage your sub can handle.

You should know better than to use a crappy sub like that. that amp will blow your sub apart. the 300.1 would be a much better choice. but buy the 600.1 anyway so that when you realize it is too much power you can just give it to your co-worker with the killer @ss stereo in his focus. HAHAHAHAHAHA

Give the sub 600. If you blow a sub, Alpine should warantee it. My friend blows 12" type-r's like nothing, and Alpine just replaces them. But i don't think that 600 watts would blow apart an alpine.

Maybe you should get a M5, from Diamond (i have 2). They are louder than a Type-R, and have better SQ. I think that they are around the same price. I think the Diamond isl ike 190 something off the internet. And the Diamond will take 600 EZ.
