lol @ the idiots thinking f bodys and fox's can handle

no

like a multi link? you can make it handle decent but thats about the end of the road.
Actually, with enough time and money you can make ANYTHING handle great.

For example, this boat below does 1G on thye skidpad. For an 80s G-body, that is **** good. Of course it was an unlimited GM project car and only 2 were made, but it shows you can make anything handle with enough time, money and fabrication.

My 88 Ws6 can handle, feels like the car is on rails.
My dad had a GTA as well and I can tell you right now, you are full of shit, dumbass. My guess is you haven't been in something that can actually "handle". Compared to a caddilac or other land yacht, sure it handles.

Wasn't the whole point of th F-body to be a cheap, fast car for 20-30something year old males? Any cocky F-body owner saying they are cream of the crop handlers are just as big of douchebags who think that because they own an import, they are suddenly superior in all aspects of driving.

They are good for cruising and picking up chicks, racing is not one of them... Something about 35 year old suspension parts I just don't feel comfortable with for racing our Chevelle.
Where can I get one of these cars? Ever since I have been married I have had great difficulty picking up the chicks while cruising. I ask my my wife and kids to duck down and they always say no. (I have already tried adding neons and that did not help).

Kind of random... but speaking of old muscle cars with crazy power. Just detailed this for someone yesterday... 1970 Stingray Corvette, almost all original with the stock 454.

And then heres the same guy's Viper I did. That thing was a beast. 345 rear tires.... I couldn't believe it. Scared the hell outta both me and my dad giving it about 3/4 throttle in first and spinning a good bit.

Oh and for anyone knocking rice burners... here is a 420 RWHP turbo s2000 from my car club (my car is on the right in the pic). The thing is a beast. Weighs less than 3000 pounds and it hauls ***:

This whole thread is funny.

I have been lucky enough to drive some incredibly fast, well handling cars. I also drive an f-body daily. I paid $8500 for my car over 5 years ago. It is lowered 1.25" in the front, 1.75" in the back. Stock shocks. Bigger sway bars. My suspension parts total under $200. I think it handles great. Compared to the $70k-$170k cars I've driven... I'm very satisfied with my firebird //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Eh I know a few friends of mine with f-body cars that have a decent amount of power and all they do when they give it enough gas is fishtail. I mean, they arent necessarily set up for a road course but I just don't see a heavy, high-torque car doing so well on turns without a good amount of money put into it.

You need to have either:

A) good driving skills

B) electronic assistance to control the car

If your friends fishtail when they give it gas it sounds like they lack the driving ability. Unless of course they're doing it on purpose for fun.

My 96 ***** am handled very well on DRY conditions... even the slightest rain and shifting into 2nd was deadly!!!!!!
Yeah, most of the F-Bods are like that. But most of these people saying they can't handle worth shit haven't even driven one. Or if they have they don't know how to drive. But, as I said before, I don't care what anybody thinks, I never did have an import beat me in my old car...the closest was a turbo-charged civic as stated earlier...and that was five ties in a row. But he had I think 18G's under the hood...with that kind of money I could have made my T/A blow any rice burner away by a long shot.

Point is, F-Bods may not handle as well, but they can handle enough. Very rarely in a race will you be caught up in twisties, and if the proper driver is behind the wheel that should be no problem. End of Story.

****ing Ricers.

You are obviously uneducated. I have driven an F-body many times as I raced one at Summit Point. THEY CANNOT HANDLE!!!! I have spent about $5500 in total upgrades to my car. Head work, cams, custom transmission including new gear ratios and a posi, and nitrous. Also intake, headers, exhaust ECU and custom TCM. The car has been lowered on custom coilovers. Has subframe connectors, strut braces, sway bars and urethane bushings. All work performed myself. It is a 1996 Maxima. As I said before, there is no streetable T/A that can beat it. Including yours.

I also have a 1993 Nissan 300zx TT that you can't beat.
