SPAX screws will be fine, heavy duty ones with oversized head.

Overtightening screws is what causes them to break...

ive always used screws, as well as a lot of other around here that have, ive never had one break on ss xxx, nore have i seen them break on other big subs

I use sheet metal screws. #10 x 1.5" comes in a 50 pack at home depot. Also lag and t nuts would work great like stated above.

I use Galvanized over sized Decking screws. exspensive but worth it.

the lag bolts are like 1.58 a pound and 8 of them is like a buck. and they work amazing. and they have a big strong thread on them to hold them in place. i always throw a washer on the front so they dot sink into the rubber surround on my sub and i think it gets it tighter.

i never had a problem. maybe try Tapcon screws, or decking screws like ol boy said ^^

you need to get stronger screws then. the stainless ones are usually a shure bet.
