location of the alternator for 1993 volvo 240

How do you locate the + and - of the alternator in the Volvo? I want to connect these 3 wires to these places:

- Negative from alternator to chassis.

- Positive from alternator to battery.

- Negative from battery to chassis.

positive is the one that has a wire going to the positive battery terminal.. doh

if you dunno what the alt is or where it is or what it looks like... you shouldnt be dealing with cars... but if u need help go google alternator under google images and find out what it looks like so you can find it in your car.
