Pioneer Bluetooth I don't remember the model number off the top of my head. But I've heard nothing but great work about them. I figured the price was pretty reasonable
k, i was just checking to see if it was still stock or not. I can break it down to you what they are charging you for.

$30-40 in wire,rcas,ects

$100 for box parts and build. If its a prefab box then your wasting your money.

"installing sub" is all of 10 screws and super easy wiring.

Everything else is labor. Pretty big rip off IMO but all car audio shops are tbh.

If you have access to a table saw and jigsaw. you can build your own box.

Consider doing the install yourself. Its super easy and plenty of info around.

This doesn't sound like a good start. I'd call/email NVX and tell them what you want then ask about the internal volume for the enclosure then go from there.

Mustangs are a ***** to run wires threw... i always say drill hole an gormet or i cant help with that part of install. Also depends on type of custom box something real nice can run $150 easy not including material. Plus not knowing shop could be legit an running ofc 1/0awg and decent quality rca's. 25+ft of good ofc aint cheap for us with no overhead. Thats not far off what I would charge all wires, holders, rca, lugs easy $100 if not very close. Now $60 or so for birch plus glue, misc $20. Hell thats rd 140-180 bucks materal alone. Gotta make something spending time cutting and sanding an carpet, paint or staining the box. Now you want me to sweat for a solid hour plus you best believe it want be me for a measly $50.. Might save 50-75 by me installing of course it would be done right but im no company thus no insurance so if something goes crazy wrong that i cant repair i want be covering it. These new cars havy crazy electronics compared to lil older cars where everything is a breeze to work on.

I think this is a very fair price.

A good quality 4 gauge amp kit is going to run about $100 at a shop, sometimes higher for retail.

A fair labor charge is $120 for the amp/sub install.

That leaves $180 for a custom built box - which is, in my opinion, on the low end. A good high quality, well braced and designed box can easily run up into the $700 range.

I would say $400 is a good price with out a doubt, and he is probably discounting the amp kit some, if it is a quality kit.
