Live SPL show webcam broadcast this Sunday

It was "Mega Hurting'' why anyone would pay to view that like you said above is beyond me that was so freaking boring man
sorry thats just my 2 cents
Where was there any mention that it cost money to watch? Can nobody do anything for the sake of doing something cool and fun and unique without having an ulterior motive or hidden agenda anymore?

We did the feed this time on very short notice, and on top of that we were preparing for the rest of the show as well as a show the previous day, so time was working against us on getting a feed up. We have over a month until the next show, so I am going to research an actual streaming video feed, with better audio.

You better hurry up and get high speed!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I thought it was pretty cool. Something new at least. Wasn't a major show or anything, but was a nice little local event. The sound worked great but the video needs improvement. My name was Kaneda0083 in the chat. Very cool concept you got there.

The turnout was less than expected. Normally we would get 20+ cars, and have more going on in terms of contests and stuff, but as this show fell on mother's day and there were other car shows going on as well as people resting from another large car show the day before, the turnout wasn't great. We are working on this to have all of the bugs worked out for a major show later in September, which will hopefully be quite a large show, and definitely something to watch //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I commend the attempt....its a pain in the azz to get anything to stream right over the network, much less when its video and audio combined from a car show enviroment...Not like you can get a T1 connection in a parking lot, ya know?

^ The video and audio were running off of the server, which I'm sure is several times faster than a T1 :p.

Video was being handled by a program called CoffeeCup Webcam, which would grab a frame every 3 seconds and upload it via FTP. Worked quite good although there were times when both images would be the same for some reason, I'm not quite sure why that was. Going to look into some different software next time.

For audio, the server was set up to be a Shoutcast server, and the computer at the shop was the DJ. It would just connect to the server and stream through there. Very simple.

Doing it that way resulted in a very low bandwidth load on the shop connection, which is just standard cable internet. I think doing it that way we should be able to get at least 1 video stream online, 2 would be perfect. We have some other cameras as well that we didn't have time to try and implement, so I think the next show is going to be much better.

Well i believe the idea was great, jus wish it was easier for me to hear the audio i tried to download the winamp but it didnt work. But i live feed would be great plus shots of their setups in their vehicle would be nice so we can get a glimpse of whats performing

We have a few D-Link 802.11g security cameras that are just sitting around right now, I'm going to take them home and do some testing with them and see if I can get those to work. Not enough time to play with them for this show. If we can get those working, the quality should be better, and we will be able to have cameras mobile so that you can see the vehicles and everything.

Yogi: Will do :p. Talk to Kayla on my AIM? Did you see what she looks like?

Yeah, Kayla was the skinny chick. I don't know about any April, there were a couple chicks there that I didn't know, but I don't think they would have gone near the computer... there was Lisa who was the other chick on the mic when I was hanging around
