Linkin Park's new album

The CD is excellent.

I've listened to LP since they were known as HybridTheory.

I hate people who are just bandwagon fegs, or fly by night kids... their work on this album is excellent. Most of you people are brainwashed top40 music lover anyways...

I like: Bleed it out, and, In pieces

When I first heard it, I was disappointed because I was expecting something else. However, I am a big believer that you have to listen to an album at least three times before you can really critically judge it, and by the third listen, I was digging it.

People are right, it's completely different from typical Linkin Park.

If you want some of the same old stereotypical shit that all sounds the same, go listen to nickelback.

It's well produced, and sounds great.

if you want music that is new and innovative, steer clear of anyone on MTV.
*Most* shit on MTV. The daily shit, or top40 shit.

They feature some good shit sometimes on MTVu or MTV2... or late night (non-primetime) MTV.

Hell, I found Feist... and She wants Revenge on an MTV...

I'm not digging the album at all. Perhaps I'm just not in the mode for this type of music right now. Really been listening to Wilco,Sunny day real estate, and Silversun Pickups

I'm proud that most people who flip through my cd case for the first time say "I've never heard of any of this"
I think that's a fine line to walk along: you have to be careful to avoid writing off good music simply because it's mainstream. Good music is good music, that's all there is to it. Having a video on MTV does not make a band any less worthy.

X2, although mainstream usually forces the artists to fit into a certain way of playing and the music is less inspired and more handed to them *this will sell etc.*

The song they are trying to promote for the album I didn't care to much for. I saw it on MTV. I have been a fan of there old work for sometime, so much energy and just amazing songs. I've never seen them live but I wouldn't mind seeing them, it's just I'd hate to see them now because most of the stuff would be promoting the new album instead of there old work.

I've gotten to the point, though, that everything mainstream sounds alike to me. Loud nigs screaming nonsense into the mic, punk bands whining, women singing about love.... its f'n repetitive.

I liked some mainstream stuff from the 90's. IMO, Closing Time by Semisonic is an amazing-*** song.
