link to thread about capacitor being worthless

why? Im assuming your using it to prove to someone? Tell them it doesnt really take a genius to figure out adding an actual item that provides power that wasnt there before helps more than adding an itemthat can only store and release power that already is there.

I was trying to find where I read that if your voltage is good, adding a cap will not be a bad thing. But many people think the magic cap will let them beat down the block with no problems. I used one and it did not work. Many here have used one and there is your research there. Whatever jagoff is requesting proof, let him be. People are gonna do what they are gonna do. My buddy swears by his, I helped him hook it up and he's happy. My voltage is better than his with the big 3 upgrade.

I have NO electrical issues what so ever with my system. I do use 2 - 1 farad capacitors in my system. I don't care if they're doing a lot of good or not. All I know is I spent money on them and I'm going to use them. If I were running a 3 kw system and had power issues I might worry about such a thing but I'm only running a little over 1k in my entire system and won't have any problems. I always thought they helped personally.

One of the things that always amazes me is how some people say that caps are great because it helped with their light dimming problem from the bass notes. They always seem to post back weeks later saying that their alternator failed. In many cases caps = band aids to electrical system inadequacies.

I have a friend who swears by caps, yet he has been through SIX alternators this year with only 800 watts on his 1994 Civic Hatch. IIRC his alternator is 70 amps and he is just running the stock equivalent battery.

I have a Kinetik battery that should be here Friday and I plan to add a HO alternator to my 1997 Civic. I am either going with an old school Linear Power OR Orion HCCA install in my Civic. Hell, I may even add another Kinetik to the trunk. Regardless, it is my opinion that an upgraded electrical system beats a cap in most cases!

^ so either the cap killed his alternators, a civic can't possibly handle a 800watt amp with out killing an alternator, there is something else wrong with his car, or you are full of shit...

FYI the man who wrote those lessons was the man who introduced 1F caps to the caraudio scene... He hardley says they are useless, but He also tells it like it is...

You don't recommend fuses on main power wires for noobs, but you do approve of caps? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
i dont use fuses . that doesnt mean they shouldnt, noobs should at least use 4 fuses to be safe

I think there is something else wrong with his electrical system. Either that or he is getting crappy alternators that just had the bad components replaced versus being completely rebuilt. I will ask him after the hurricane BS settles down.

Regardless, I still am a firm believer that an upgraded electrical system beats a cap any day of the week.

You don't use fuses?? Why not? That's insane. I guess you'll learn when your car goes up in flames.

And how would 4 fuses help anyone??

Actually that is an understatement. I use caps but I wouldn't use one to FIX anything. They're supposed to be there for quick storage and release of power when needed by the amplifier. Even a good electrical system can benefit from a cap.

So you think a battery creates energy?

amps are full of capacitors //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
So are crossovers and all other electronics. Whats your point sir??//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
