I like Lil Wayne but I think I could name 10 rappers I feel are better.. It also depends by what we consider "better"... But I'll give Wayne credit cuz he's making music that sells.

As far as a talented Lyrical rapper, his rhymes are too simple and he just finds a nice beat to rap over usually.. That's what sells in music today... Soulja Boy is probably one of the dumbest, and worst rappers ever but you gotta respect dude for knowing what sells and making it. But the best rappers in my mind would start with guys like Nas (even though he's starting to get weak), Royce da 5'9", Joe Budden (check his Mood Music mixtapes), Lupe and I could keep going with guys most never even got a chance to hear of because they don't make music you'll hear on TV/radio...

After all the drugs he really is becoming a horrible rapper.

I have to agree to that one, his speech has slowed and he is just slapping words together on some of his songs. Lollipop remix is a good example of this, it makes no sense and he just rambles on throwing in random words.

x2, I bought The Cool and immediacy bought Food and Liquor. I think he is one of the most slept on artist out there and his lyrics are amazing, not just talking about selling dope and he actually is telling a story in his flows.

this whole rap things crazy I think I its better when they don't talk to much about money, women, and cars but that's just me. I mean if you listen to hip hop like for example Rakim from Eric B and Rakim, he would rap about just stuff that happened to him or stuff he thought was not right with the government and his struggle, but I guess know it's cool to talk about dealing cocaine?? don't get me wrong sometimes I like to zone out to this s***t but it gets old quick.

also, hip hop has ALWAYS been about money, jewels, women, cars, smoking weed, selling base etc...whoever said that it hasn't, never really listened to the songs...it's just how they did it....Hip Hop is all about flashy and being better than the next man, that's how it all got started...

First off I love how people try to say that lil wayne isn't mainstream and people that don't like him listen to "everything that's on the radio." Wayne is one of the most mainstream rappers out there period.

I can't stand wayne his shit is corny as hell. He comes up with the dumbest line I've ever heard. "I am like Legos, you are like egoes." What the hell? Straight up Wayne is garbage and bites on everyone's style.

I agree with dude up a few posts that Krayzie Bone is the best rapper.......... Oh wait I think Wayne tried to bite him HARD....... but Krayzie's shit still sounds a million times better.
