I don't think he's the best rapper. Is that an LOL too?And yes, he did grow up around the Magnolia projects in New Orleans which is probly THE worst ghetto in the United States....How do I know...I've been through there and it is pretty dam scary especially for a white boy I promise you

Ummm, they bulldozed the Magnolia housing projects? It was a bad place, but everyplace in New Orleans seems like it. I thought he was from Hollygrove further Uptown, which is a really shady neighborhood. He didn't live the gangster life for long, he graduated from high school I believe, and got a record deal when he was like 13, so why would he risking his safety after that aside from his assorted drug possession charges? I don't know where he lives now, but he probably hasn't lived in the hood anytime recently, and probably very rarely goes back.

Nobody is breaking record sales these days. He went platinum in one week with Tha Carter III and that is amazing for the way record sales are now. He has won numerous awards. Now, I'm not saying winning an award makes you the best, but to say he hasn't won any is foolish.

He can win as many awards as he wants, he still blows at rapping. He banks on songs like 'lollipop'...i dont care if every middle class white teenager and their grandmothers loves that song, its not worth recognition unless he wants to call himself a pop artist...good lord...lil wayne needs to gtfo

I think paper trail is garbage. Half of the songs were leaked and they were the only good ones on the album. But i'm not denying that he's a good rapper though, i just think paper trail is a fail.

I thought threads were being made about him because he is the only rapper out there now. Or a rapper that can sell more than 5 albums. I am surprised people even buy rap anymore.

Im sorry, but if you think he lived in the ghetto after cash money got on then thats really sad. His "daddy" swindled money from the Hot Boys and they moved into a mansion. And when the hell did he become a blood?

He knew people in the Magno. I bevieve that's where he hung out alot..Couldn't comment on Hollygrove because I've never been there. Either way, dude was surrounded by drugs and violence during his upbringing.

His record deal didn't mean much back then anyway, I'm sure he used that little cash to buy more drugs, ect..Sure ge wasn't getting anywhere close to six figures

However you look at it, he didn't get a deal at 13 and become so famous by NOT being good.....I agree his old stuff was more gritty and I like that, but c'mon, how many artists use the same sound for 10 plus years??

Did you read that in a magazine, no offense but that guy is about as tough as a wet paper bag in a the ocean. There are plenty of artist who have been around for 10 years...Common, Talib, Mos Def etc. etc. etc.
