it doesn't play mp3s, right? and is the aux in like the pioneer where you have to have another unit to actually plug something in?
I'm still debating, its this or a pio 880, and i've had pioneers, never had an eclipse, i really want to try one.

The 8053 can if you pick up a module that allows the deck to play MP3s.

The aux in is the typical, 3.5mm i think, adapter, not the REAL small one nanos use. Any radio shack has them. We use my wife's RIO or my daughters iPod w/no problem.

You missed the commander stuff by a few months. There were two on here.

It will play trashed|abused CDs. I've seen it have no problem playing what looked like a CD left on sandpaper.

Don't know if you could hook up something up via the Aux. or not. Not sure what you mean about the Pioneer Aux.
