Lights on 9/11

[controversial]I don't agree with the concept. This is a poor attempt at commemorating such an event. Personally, I think the impact of 9/11 is much smaller than many Americans believe, except that it has given the US a motive to practice the enforcement policies on 3rd world countries that has already earned them a great deal of international debate.[/controversial]
And we have our first winner of the "devolution of thread to conspiracy theory horseshit" award....

Ahh the interwebs... bringing conspiracy theories into 9/11 threads is like suggesting Audiobahn for an SQ build...

Of course I've heard of that, but in 20 years, how much of that is going to matter? There are incidents like these everywhere in the world every couple of years. Ignorance is thinking this deserves any more rememberence than other problems. The billions of dollars that trade hands to bomb and rip apart other countries could be used to feed millions of children. So which is a worse tragedy?
There is enough money/economic power to feed all the children in the world and then bomb them to bits... isn't progress wonderful?

Or are you to emo to appreciate that we can do both?

What you should do is drive with your lights off at night.

They should come up with is something people would notice, like the little bows that people pin to their shirts, or wear a certain color or whatever. That would get more people's attention.

I feel this "tribute" is sort of cheesy seeing how we don't commemorate the day Pearl Harbor was attacked. If we did something like this for every day the U.S. had a devastating event happen we would be driving around with our headlights on practically everyday. Take a moment of silence (5-10 secs) and go on with your day.

Ohhh Matt, so freakn ignorant on the world problems //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif maybe i think like a canadian but I agree with Punk on every fact.

I would rather see it back in the hands of the taxpayer and let them decide to feed those children if they see fit, but that is another story altogether.

No "superpower" has ever lasted forever. If you think those are problems, you should try travelling to places where you're worried about getting shot or taken hostage with every step you take. Inflation is unavoidable and occurs everywhere. Sometimes it works in your favour and sometimes it doesn't.

I don't understand why people don't get this: success will not come from caring only about the impact an action has on yourself; you must consider others as well. It's interesting that the US was all for liberty and opportunity for so long, but now that it's a "hot button" topic, Mexicans are the cause of all the US's problems. Meanwhile, another boat from the Orient just hit shore.

1. Deflation ftl...I gues syou can call it negative inflation

2. Adam Smith ftl....I mean, he's only one of the most influential economists to ever live. The greed of our citizens is the reason we are a super power today...caring for comrads doesn't help the stock price //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

It is because you are from socialist california.

why doesn't anyone turn on their headlights on the anniversary of the oklahoma city bombing? or an even better question, do half of you even know the anniversary of the oklahoma city bombing without looking it up? that excludes those of you that live in or near okc
4 - 19. I'm part of the half that didn't look it up. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i will be driving with my lights on that day. only because my lights are on all the time.

No. and I don't know.

I think the only people know it was Sept 11 is because it's the title.

If folks started calling it the World Trade Bombing II, people would forget.

this country and its people are the biggest tragedy..everything is getting more expensive, for no reason, were not getting anything better or more for our money. annual inflation is 4.1%, did you get a a 4.1% raise this year? Things are more expensive, people arent making anymore money. This country's income increase is stagnant...our liberties have been taken and are being taken away more and more everyday. Our jobs are being outsourced, american corporations are moving elsewhere...i guess its cool that the only car company making cars in the us will be toyota soon enough.[/quote
What are you talking about??? people are making more money than they where 20 years ago... Are you blind, stupid, or just a sheeple to some assinine blog?

we need to get all these illegal mexicans out of this country and start worrying about our own country.
No, we need them to legally emigrate. They are here because there is a demand for their labor... but having them here illegally is not a good thing...

9/11 set forth the oppurtunity for the elite to get even richer..everyone of those bombs is putting money into somebody's buddy's pocket
I'm just going to roll my eyes at this one...

wrongggggg...ive been trying to get a job for like 3 months now. Theres TOO many of them here working for 4 cents on the hour.

plenty of people here are willing to work, just too hard to get a job because illegals have 75% of them covered in some aspect.
