Lights on 9/11

no there is a beautiful memorial being built as we speak, should be done just in time for election day
thats cool, but who funded that? oh, thats right

[controversial] Personally, I think the impact of 9/11 is much smaller than many Americans believe, except that it has given the US a motive to practice the enforcement policies on 3rd world countries that has already earned them a great deal of international debate.[/controversial]

Of course I've heard of that, but in 20 years, how much of that is going to matter? There are incidents like these everywhere in the world every couple of years. Ignorance is thinking this deserves any more rememberence than other problems. The billions of dollars that trade hands to bomb and rip apart other countries could be used to feed millions of children. So which is a worse tragedy?

Or better yet, it could be used to fund our education system which, in the New Orleans area, is seriously lacking.

Also, I'm not gonna drive with my headlights on. They are flip-up headlights. Headlights up = more drag. Im not going to look like a dumbass AND get worse mileage.

why doesn't anyone turn on their headlights on the anniversary of the oklahoma city bombing? or an even better question, do half of you even know the anniversary of the oklahoma city bombing without looking it up? that excludes those of you that live in or near okc

this country and its people are the biggest tragedy..everything is getting more expensive, for no reason, were not getting anything better or more for our money. annual inflation is 4.1%, did you get a a 4.1% raise this year? Things are more expensive, people arent making anymore money. This country's income increase is stagnant...our liberties have been taken and are being taken away more and more everyday. Our jobs are being outsourced, american corporations are moving elsewhere...i guess its cool that the only car company making cars in the us will be toyota soon enough.

we need to get all these illegal mexicans out of this country and start worrying about our own country.

In 20 years...i dont even want to think about it.

**** feeding millions of children..

9/11 set forth the oppurtunity for the elite to get even richer..everyone of those bombs is putting money into somebody's buddy's pocket

**** new orleans...did you not learn the first ****ing time? I did, i ****ing moved 1500 miles away..

i almost think the friends of mine who have been killed in ****ing iraq, wouldnt have died in vein if the gas prices would atleast go down...people would be more behind the war if they could see somekind of good from it. just shows you how little the govt cares about the well being of its people compared to making money

Are you talking about Katrina?

In any case, I'm trying to move away, because I hate this place... but I'm only 19 and don't yet have money to throw away any time I wanna move.

No "superpower" has ever lasted forever. If you think those are problems, you should try travelling to places where you're worried about getting shot or taken hostage with every step you take. Inflation is unavoidable and occurs everywhere. Sometimes it works in your favour and sometimes it doesn't.

I don't understand why people don't get this: success will not come from caring only about the impact an action has on yourself; you must consider others as well. It's interesting that the US was all for liberty and opportunity for so long, but now that it's a "hot button" topic, Mexicans are the cause of all the US's problems. Meanwhile, another boat from the Orient just hit shore.

In 20 years...i dont even want to think about it.

What an enlightened perspective you have!

9/11 set forth the oppurtunity for the elite to get even richer..everyone of those bombs is putting money into somebody's buddy's pocket
So are you for the actions taken after 9/11 as you alluded to earlier, or are you against them?
