light flickering

this question is for my cousin he has had problem wit his sysytem. He has a new battery, and a cap running on his system. When his system is cranked he starts to undergo flickering of his lights, i believe that his system is just tryin to pull to much current to his sytem which makes his lights flicker but this may not be the problem, would upgrading the alternator solve this problem. help me out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif
