Hey, I have had my Optimus for a month now. Everything up until the last few days has been great. Recently my phone has had terrible battery life. I have to put it on the charger up to 4 times a day. Last week it only needed on the charger once every day and a half. What can I do to get better battery life?

settings - about phone - battery use
if that doesn't tell you whats eating the battery, download ATK (advanced task killer)
ATK is worthless. It uses battery to save battery.

First check your screen settings. Have it set to turn off the screen after 15 seconds of no input. Secondly consider rooting and running a custom kernel. I was getting about 18 hours on my DInc, but after a root and new rom/kernel Im seeing over a day with heavy use.

It's showing that cell standby is using the majority of the battery, and next is the Android System, display and finally wifi, at 13%.

I have been rooted and running a custom kernel, 3 days after I bought the phone.

Try clearing out the dalvik cache and cache in the Clockwork recovery. Then turn the phone off and charge it to 100%. Keep the phone plugged in turn it on and go into Clockwork Recovery and wipe the battery stats. Reboot the phone and unplug it and see what happens. If that doesnt work Id try a new kernel.

I'll try that out. Thanks!

not true! few co workers of mine have iphones and they die fast too.

A common issue is people always leave the bluetooth/GPs on and not even know it.

Optimus V ? Stand by over 50% ? Charge the battery fully, Try putting it in airplane mode for 5 or 10 seconds then turn airplane mode off. Sounds crazy but there is a known bug in the optimus v. Most of the custom roms I have tried don't have a fix for this installed. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
