Lexan trunk floor

The pictures here actually represent day 2. Day one was mainly gathering material and making templates. Lord knows I cant afford to ruin a $200 sheet of lexan. This was done with 1/4 Lexan sheet and 1" Lexan rod. Pictures kinda **** but I will post more tomorrow when I can take a pic in the day light. Not done yet, work in progress. I plan on finishing it on Sunday.

BTW, I have worked with wood all my life, this was my first go with Plastics. The trunk is going to be insane when I finish it. Lexan amp mount, already has lexan brackets to hold the speaker box in place, and much much more

Thanks man, hardest part was cutting the rod. All I have is a pad sander and a jig saw lol. And that rod really is **** thick. I made the floor template out of cardboard so I knew I would have a lot less chance of making a bad cut

Ok, heres a sneak "peek" into whats next. MDF box around the batt with a lexan front and top. Forest green crushed velvet lining for the whole trunk. Lexan 1" tubing for power and ground, 3/4" for all the others. When I get done you will see some wiring but it will be nice and neat in the tubing. Same material on under side of trunk lid with my last name scrolled out in lexan and green LED's in the edges. Why lexan? It is MUCH stronger than acrylic and easier to work with. Less melting, easier cutting.

Almost forgot, lexan amp rack for the one MTX. Will build a second when I upgdae my subs and get another. They will be positioned on either side of the 7557.
