Letterman makes public apology

No, jokes on innocent parties have real effects.
No, the innocent party is weak if they let a joke rattle them so much that they kill themselves.

In my opinion, a joke is either way off the mark, and easily ignored, or too close to home, and thus hitting something that you have either done wrong and should rightly feel bad about, or something that was not wrong and that you should stop punishing yourself for.

Regardless, the beauty of free speech is that, even if you feel greatly offended by something said (not done), you can defend yourself with as much vitriol as you like.

Yo, you quick son. Those stickies at the top of the thread just go right over your head huh.
I don't live in the lounge like you, dick head. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Politically I don't agree with Letterman...I've never liked the guy...I don't find him particularly amusing either (well, he was funny, about 20+ years ago), but since this last apology, which finally did actually sound sincere, let's all move on. ****, talk about //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/beatdeadhorse5.gif.5d70132dea1eb89b73bf2fdbb6027dd6.gif!
