let's name em': 16v capable amps

I really liked my 81001, the current model i believe still available. Went with the sundown for efficiency, but i abused the hell out of a pair of 81001s and i paid under 500 for both of them, and ran them as low as .25 with a good electrical for them.
i don't wanna OT this thread... but i have 2 1501d's (same amp) and i paid right at $400 for both. they are beastly, but only do 14.4v and 2ohms w/o mod.

ok so what else from what companies can do 16v that I am overlooking? Just trying to broaden my range of 16v capable amps, any help is appreciated so i'll be sure of what I want to pick when I have funds available.

DC makes amps??

I had my pair of strapped 81001s wired to a half ohm load, so .25 per amp, and other times i'd strap it to 1 ohm when i only had a single mojo in the car. It got pretty warm, but never cut off or even hot enough to worry for that matter. I didnt have my 16v then, but their newer big class Ds can all handle 16/18v out of the box, i wish i had it back then too. I loved my sundown amp, but the mtx was half the price literally. When my mtx's were stolen out of my garage, i switched to sundown.

not looking to mods any amps though as I have no knowledge on how to do so..unless you're offering to freely do it for any amp I buy. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Sorry thought you would be capable of removing a resistor from a board, guess I over estimated your abilities //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

yup. Far be it that I should know everything about the boards just because I know how to hook an amp up. Wow, wake up on the wrong side of the bed Navi? I don't recall us having any problems with each other before.

i'll check into them, not necessarily buying from the list.. just wanted to know some choices available for when I was ready to buy. Thanks for the info though for sure.

Back on subject, its really not hard to do on the majority of amps, if my shakey *** hands can do Im sure you can. Some even just have a piece that slides off two contacts that disables over voltage protection.

I was running out of things to say to you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif I was going to say go back to usaci forums bitch lol.

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I need to learn more about electronics but around here no one is into audio or amps or anything like that enough to do that kind of stuff. They like jl/kicker/sony/and alpine. Which is what the only audio shop in london installs. Go figure..

any amp you recommend trying it out on? i've seen a ton of modded hk4000ds .. would that be a good choice? only thing i'm iffy on with those is the current hogging they do. ugh //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I feel your pain, in the process of building another van by myself with zero help. Pretty much the same story here mainstreamers and if you have anything else its flea market junk.

I know some people had decent success with the old hk4000 back when it first came out, never personally dealt with one myself to have an opinion of it. I Guess it boils down to a price range you are trying to stay within. Of the ones menioned so far I would lean towards the Rd amps, if not for having a sponsor thats what I would be running.
