Less than impressed with L7 and Hifonics Brutus Tuning

Now lower the volume turn the subs back on with the bass boost and gains and sub control all the way down....now this part you have to really listen to the subs...set your Hz levels to match the sub...or type of music you generally listen to....no need for 20-40hz if you listen to Hatebreed.
So you think there's no information below 40Hz?

Actually no....and i apologize...i edited that and still missed that....i meant to say under 20-40 for HaTebreed (just as an example)...why i also mentioned just to tune it to what you listen to...i set up my customers cars differently if they listen to rap on a daily basis than if they listen to rock..naturally...just stressing that i wouldn't use a bass CD and hz generators to tune a daily listener not meant for DB comps...ESPECIALLY this case where he's got blown speakers on the rear deck and most likely uses the trunk for groceries and tire shine storage ya know....not knocking him i just wouldn't get technical with this one....i been doin this since you could do it..gotta know when to keep it simple....itd take bout 15 mins to tune this one and never have an issue blowing interiors or subs...and sh+t...might actually be able to hear words outside the car unlike most round here

It lpols like you have been doing it wrong. Why would you set it different? Set it right and it will play everything.

No...if someone comes in sayin they want a kick *** setup and listen to rock ima put in 2 bad *** 10s and itll sound tight and hit hard on every bass drum hit and still carry the guitar tones pefectly...rap or whatever else...maybe some 12s or 15s that get lower and give em a more boomin bass...yeah itll sou.d good with the others but im certainly not gonna use a bass cd to tune a 10s setup....its all relative....like i said in my original post...keep it simple...use your ears...theyre your best tool...honestly i dont even look at exactly what hz its set at...when it sounds where i want it thats it...even when i do stage setups...they're more involved but still setup and tuned for the type of music coming thru...never had an issue with any setup ive done...gotten tons of Db and Sq trophies...get technical when its needed....this ONE particular case for this one kids setup theres no need for all that stuff...that doesnt mean i NEVER use em....you know what youre talking about clearly so you should understand where im coming from here

You think 10s are tighter than 12s and 15s? Care to explain that. I do agree that we can over complicate but nothing said here is more than basic stuff. If it sounds complicated to you...
Yea bro, you din't know big subs aren't as punchy as small ones??? They're sloppy and booomy, lol. 12's and 15's play lower too. That guy is definitely an expert //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/graduate.gif.d982460be9f153bb54e5d4cb744f6ae8.gif

He has tons of db and sq trophies..

Kid? I step away for a few days and this thread goes to hell in a hand basket. I can tune by ear.... and it will still be wrong. That would be why I came here asking for help on how to tune it correctly. And it isn't even my car.

I think some people just think others enjoy hearing them speak.

Thanks to those who give technical help. That is what I'm looking for. She still hasn't come back for me to tune it. She told me that she had just left it all off in the meantime so she doesn't blow anything.

Mike doesn't know what he's talking about, just saying

Fried it! Well the amp anyway. Turns out the issue was the auxiliary port on the radio. I popped in a CD and poof the amp went up in smoke. Took all of 3 seconds. Wish I had turned everything to zero before starting. Oh well. Lesson learned. Now need to find her a deck and an amp.
