legality of Walls?

I have been getting this crazy idea in my head to build a wall in the back of the lumina with like 4 15's in it. I was wondering though if walls are illegal in any way. Only way mom said she'd let me do it is if it wasnt illegal.

In most states you can not obstruct the rear view mirror. Check your local laws at any police station or county court house.

That's a good way to circumvent too many problems......build a half-wall instead of a full size wall. Even if it isn't totally illegal, I could still foresee many cops hassling you about it.

what about pickups with solid cabs? pickups with the bed campers....box trucks ...all these you cannot see out the back of. besides that for 200 bucks you can get a review camera. not only that but my friend (he moved to north dakota) had a wall of rockford power 15's in his car and he got pulled over here in town and all they told him was to keep it down lol he shook the heck out of the houses. the cop just looked at it and said "holy shit, i need to see you lisance and registration...." lol all he ended up getting was a warrning. the ticket he would have gotten would have been a disturbing the peace which here is grounds to impound the car. in ft wayne you get busted cranking it im sure they would think of about 20 reasons to try and nail you on without a warning. also every walled system i ever knew of in town there had been broken into SEVERAL times

I think a wall would be a good idea and fun project. I say do it that way i can build my first wall cause i have been wanting to build one. That is if you need my help again.

Nope.

Just make sure it's VERY secure....in the event of an accident, you don't want a 200lb missile inside the car with you.

in NY you need to have (2) side view mirrors if there will be an obstruction to the rear.

skep call up the local police they will be able to answer this question. I called up mine when i was thinking of doing this and they were able to give me an answer.
