Legacy's ratings are quite exaggerated and misleading. I have yet to see a single one of thier amps that produce the power they claim. I would steer clear, they are not the best by far.
Capacitors are installed inline on the power wire just before the amp. they also require remote and ground connections to work. Typically, a cap is beneficial only to a system that has a properly functioning charging system. Using a cap to stop lights from dimming is a band aid fix. Basically, a cap will aid the amplifier durring musical peaks where a short burst of power is needed. Normally they are placed on the sub amplifier, as that is where most power is consumed.
